Legal Standard Consulting is a consultancy firm led by Barrister Ngozi Chianakwalam. She
graduated from the University of Ife in 1977 and was called to the Bar in 1978. She joined the Imo
State Ministry of Justice in 1979 and rose through the ranks. She became the pioneer Director of
Public Prosecutions (DPP) of Abia State, a position she held for 9 years. She attained the highest
position of Solicitor General/Permanent Secretary, Abia State in 1999.She has appeared in the
courts at all levels in both criminal and civil matters. In the year 2001, she was appointed the
Director Registry, of the Corporate Affairs Commission. She voluntarily retired from service on the
31st of December 2006. She has now set up on her own. She is a member of the Nigerian Bar
Association and has held the positions of Secretary and Vice-Chairman of her branch at various
times over the years. She is a member of the International Bar Association. She is also an
Arbitrator and Mediator.
